Congratulations to our latest cohort of YouthBuild graduates! Showing up steadily for six months, these students have worked hard to learn construction skills, work toward their GED, and construct a tiny home. We couldn’t be more excited to see what they continue to achieve – some have already landed jobs in the construction industry!

A great turnout of family and friends came out for graduation, surrounding the graduates as each of them received their certificates. Staff took time to say a special word about each student, recognizing their unique contributions to the program. We enjoyed plenty of food, including treats baked by staff, and the graduates received donated gifts from generous YouthBuild partners. We are so grateful to DPR Construction and Howard S. Wright for their support!

YouthBuild’s new cohort is gearing up to start next week and is still taking applications! YouthBuild is a six-month pre-apprenticeship construction program for young people ages 18 – 24. Participants earn a weekly stipend while studying for their high school diploma or equivalent, gaining skills needed to join the workforce, and giving back to the community by building tiny houses for the Low Income Housing Institute. If you are interested in joining the next cohort, please contact Jamie Rose at jamie.pinilla-odea@youthcare.org.
