Together, we showed up BIG for young people!

Because of the extraordinary generosity, energy, and belief in YouthCare’s mission, our community came together in a powerful way at this year’s 40th Annual Luncheon. We are thrilled to share that we officially surpassed our fundraising goal of $300,000, an incredible reflection of what is possible when people choose to stand alongside young people experiencing homelessness.

What This Means for YouthCare’s Future

The incredible support raised through this year’s luncheon strengthens YouthCare’s ability to continue evolving services to meet the urgent and changing needs of young people across Seattle. This includes deepening coordination across programs, increasing operational stability, and advancing our vision for more responsive and integrated resource navigation services through the Orion Center and beyond.

If you were unable to attend this year’s Luncheon, you can still support young people experiencing homelessness by making a gift today.

Thank you for showing up and reminding young people that they are worthy of safety, belonging, and a future filled with possibility.

Featured Speaker: Kalina Silverman

We were excited to have Kalina Silverman join us at this year’s luncheon, where she helped bring visibility to the experiences of young people facing homelessness and by sharing a glimpse into their stories.

Kalina Silverman, journalist and founder of the award-winning Big Talk (@makebigtalk) project, partnered with five youth and young adult organizations in King County to develop a new video series focused on youth homelessness, in collaboration with the Schultz Family Foundation.

Kalina spent three days in Seattle speaking directly with approximately 20 young people connected to partners including YouthCare, Mockingbird, New Horizons, Tree House, Friends of Youth, and Mary’s Place. The resulting short video series centers their voices and lived experiences, putting faces to an issue too often reduced to statistics. While each conversation reflects real hardship, they also highlight resilience, ambition, and hope.

Kalina will be sharing at least six of these videos in the coming weeks. She recently released her book, Big Talk: How to Skip Small Talk, Make Meaningful Connections, and Enrich Your Life.
