A federal court in Spokane, Wash., ruled in favor of the health and well-being of American teens, parents, and families—stating that the Trump-Pence administration’s early termination of Planned Parenthood’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program (TPPP) grants is unlawful. The TPPP was on track to serve more than 1.2 million people across the country. Last week, in another case challenging the administration’s cuts to the program, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled that the administration’s attempts to end the TPPP were unlawful and that the administration must process plaintiffs’ awards for the next year.
YouthCare is honored to have worked with Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands on a lawsuit to support teen health education. The trainings are provided to youth living at YouthCare, and Planned Parenthood has worked extremely hard to make the materials inclusive and affirming to young people with diverse gender expression and identities, as well as culturally sensitive!
