On June 6th, at 1:30 p.m., in City Council Chambers, Councilmember Mosqueda will be
hosting a special committee meeting to hear from human service providers in the city. Our human
service providers have direct, meaningful relationships with residents and provide vital and
wide-ranging services to support Seattle residents on behalf of the City—ranging from shelter and
legal assistance for survivors of domestic violence, to employment and food supports, to services for
those in Seattle experiencing homelessness. Last year, we heard from human service providers who
were working 100 hours a week, were waiting in the same food bank/affordable housing lines as
their clients, and holding down second jobs.
