YouthCare is seeking a strategic, operationally strong Executive Director to lead the organization through a critical period of stabilization, alignment, and renewed focus in service of youth and young adults experiencing homelessness.

For more than 50 years, YouthCare has supported young people ages 12–24 with shelter, housing, education, employment, and wraparound services. Today, the organization is strengthening its operations, systems, and financial foundation to ensure long-term sustainability and impact.

The Executive Director will lead this next phase of work, with a focus on executing the Board-approved turnaround and alignment plan with clarity, urgency, and transparency. This includes strengthening core operations, building reliable systems and financial discipline, and aligning programs with strategic priorities.

This role requires a leader who can balance operational rigor with a people-centered approach. The Executive Director will build trust across staff, youth, and partners through consistent, candid communication and visible, values-based leadership, while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and care.

Externally, the Executive Director will serve as a key representative of YouthCare, strengthening relationships with funders, partners, and the broader community, and supporting long-term sustainability through strong development and partnership efforts.

Key areas of leadership include:

• Executing the turnaround and strengthening organizational systems and performance

• Ensuring strong financial stewardship, including budgets, cash flow, and reporting

• Building and supporting a high-performing leadership team and staff culture

• Strengthening development efforts and external partnerships

• Advancing equity, inclusion, and lived experience in organizational practices

• Maintaining a transparent, accountable partnership with the Board

This is an in-person role based in Seattle, Washington and available for immediate hire. 

The salary range is $160,000 – $200,000, depending on experience.
