YouthCare to bring visionary employment and education programs to the corner of Broadway & Pine.

YouthCare is honored to join the Capitol Hill community and bring new life and vision to the historic Booth Building, located on the prominent corner of Broadway and Pine. The YouthCare’s new program HUB (HUB) will serve as a central point of connection for YouthCare’s education and employment services, resource partners, and young people, building pathways to employment and creating economic mobility for young people experiencing instability.

The HUB represents a joint effort between YouthCare and Community Roots Housing. The first three floors of the building will offer a variety of education, employment, and leadership programs created in partnership with local businesses and community-based organizations. Community Roots Housing will operate the building’s eighty-seven affordable units for individuals making 30% to 50% of the AMI, with units reserved for young people experiencing homelessness.

The Broadway & Pine HUB will help young people explore their passions and build the skills to make their dreams a reality.

Estimated Costs per Youth Participant:
– Workforce Program Expense: $6,800
– Youth Wages for Career Training: $12,000
– Estimated Client Assistance: $1,800

Project Status: Community Roots Housing received $9.6 million from the City of Seattle Office of Housing in December 2021. Additional fundraising efforts are ongoing in support of a Winter 2022 groundbreaking.
