Thank you for helping us create a joyful holiday for young people! If you’d like to help us with current and emerging needs, please visit our current needs page here.

Every day, youth experiencing homelessness must focus on food, shelter, and safety. Yet during the holidays, their wishes are no different than what so many of us look forward to: a chance to gather with friends and loved ones, share a meal, and enjoy the season. With your help, we can spread joy and make the holidays feel special for youth experiencing homelessness. It can start with something as simple as a holiday gift—selected just for them. Learn more about holiday giving below!

Fulfill a Wish

Grant youth wishes safely online through YouthCare’s Holiday Wish List—gifts are shipped directly to YouthCare!

We are deeply grateful for all front-line staff, including Amazon warehouse workers who are showing up every day to ensure life-saving supplies reach those in need. We stand in solidarity with them and their right to protection and safety as employees.

Donate a Gift Card

Gift cards are one of the most frequent requests from youth as they give young people autonomy and the flexibility to choose. They also help youth find those hard-to-find sizes, specific work attire, or needed items for their new apartment! Your donation of gift cards gives us the opportunity to treat young people to something special—e.g. a trip to the ice cream shop for everyone staying at one of our housing programs!

Thoughtfully purchased gift card ideas could include:

Please send electronic gift cards to or see below for more info about shipping or dropping off your gifts.

To keep you, our clients, and our staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, we ask that you either ship gifts or sign up for a time to drop off gifts. See below for instructions! Note: Because all young people deserve to open up a present that is unused and just for them, we ask that all gifts be new and unopened.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering this holiday season! Due to COVID-19, our volunteer opportunities are limited. If you’re looking for a simple yet vital way to help young people, consider cooking and delivering (or order delivery from a local restaurant) to one of our shelters or housing programs. You can also help us supply holiday meal boxes for young people and their families in the community.

Holiday Meal Kits

Help us build holiday meal kits for young people and their families in the community. Check out this opportunity to volunteer and a list of needed items here.

Holiday Meal Support for Programs

Sad about missing holidays with family? Put that energy into supporting a holiday meal for one of our living communities! Programs that still need meal support include Ravenna  and Sandpoint.

To be notified when other volunteer opportunities resume pending public health recommendations, please provide your contact info here.

Make Your Year-end Gift

Make a cash donation to help provide joy and stability for young people during the holidays.

Host a Holiday Fundraiser

While we can’t be physically together this holiday season, the collective support of caring community members like you help make the holidays feel special for young people at YouthCare.

By hosting a virtual holiday fundraiser you can engage your friends and family in a cause that is important to you and make a lasting difference in the lives of homeless youth—through the holiday season and beyond.

Shop Consciously

During a time of year when we’re all thinking about our loved ones near and far, please consider maximizing your impact on the community with your purchasing power. During your own holiday shopping this year, please remember to buy from black-owned businesses!
